By Deborah Rodriquez
Ms. Rodriquez is a vibrant, funny personality with a will to do good which turns into a passion to help the battered, subjugated Afgan women. This book presents insights into the courage and the customs of women of a country where under the Taliban they had been reviled and left with no options for independence and pride. The Kabul Beauty School goes behind the viel of secrecy imposed on a culture little known to most of us through the eyes of a warm, highly individualistic American woman whose persistence and ingenuity bring hope where little existed in the past. |

In the fall of 2001, American Deborah Rodriquez embarqued on an idealistic adventure to bring help to the newly liberated Afganistan people after international forces pushed the Taliban out of the control of that country. Arriving in Afganistan, she searched for something she herself could contribute with no specific training beyond her cosmetology degree. Thus begins an adventure and a quest that is fascinating, humerous, poignant and admirable.
