Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox

by Eoin Colfer

Artemis Fowl has been a criminal mastermind since age 10.  Or before.  Now 14, however, Artemis finds himself doing something that he could never have imagined: the right thing.

Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl: The Time Paradox (the latest addition to the Artemis Fowl series) has all the usual quips and quirks we have come to expect from Artemis, plus plot twists only a story involving time travel can provide.  Artemis believes himself responsible for giving his mother Angeline a fatal disease.  The only cure is fluid from the brain of the extinct silky sifaka lemur: an animal Artemis himself made extinct when he was 10 years old.  So with the help of his loyal bodyguard Butler, a fairy friend/rival Captain Holly Short, and a generous warlock-demon No1, Artemis decides to go back in time and rescue the lemur that will save his mother’s life.

Artemis has stolen priceless artifacts, art works, and even fairy magic.  He has rescued his father and mother from terrible fates.  He has defeated countless enemies, from megalomaniacal fairy supervillains and corrupt human CEO’s to witless trolls.  Now Artemis finds himself taking on the most dangerous and unpredictable opponent he has ever faced: his younger self.
